Maspeth, NY — City Council candidate Alicia Vaichunas today announced the endorsement of the Detectives’ Endowment Association, which represents approximately 18,000 active and retired NYPD Detectives.
“I’m honored to earn the support of New York City’s detectives,” said Vaichunas. “Detectives solve violent crimes, deliver justice for victims, and keep our neighborhoods safe. In City Hall, I will back them with the resources and common-sense policies they need to do their jobs.”
Vaichunas’s public safety priorities include hiring and retaining more officers and detectives so cases are investigated thoroughly and cleared faster; focusing enforcement on repeat offenders who drive violence and quality of life issues across District 30; investing in investigative tools and victim support from digital forensics to witness services; and partnering with local precincts and community groups to prevent crime before it starts.
“The DEA’s endorsement is a vote of confidence in our plan to make District 30 cleaner, safer, and more accountable,” Vaichunas added. “District 30 supports the men and women who protect our families, and I will have their backs on day one.”
